Registered investment advisors continued their hot start to 2026 on Tuesday with several acquisition and recruiting announcements.

Prime Capital Financial, an Overland Park, Kan.-based RIA overseeing more than $30 billion in client assets, announced that it has acquired a Salisbury, N.C.-based firm with $600 million in assets under management.

Prime Capital’s acquisition of Bradshaw Rogers will see seven new employees join the RIA, including advisors and founders Trent Bradshaw and Brandon Rogers, who will be partners at Prime Capital. The advisory firm, which was founded in 2006, will take on the Prime Capital name and leave its former broker/dealer, United Partners, for Prime Capital’s Private Client Services.

Bradshaw Rogers’ practice includes tax coordination, which Prime Capital said will add to the firm’s recent expansion of its planning and tax capabilities.

“Trent and Brandon have built an exemplary team with a strong tax-focused approach that complements our recent expansion into tax services,” CEO Glenn Spencer said in a statement, referring to an acquisition the firm made in October that led to it creating Prime Capital Tax Advisory.

The North Carolina presence will add to Prime Capital’s offices in Asheville, N.C., Charleston, S.C., Charlotte, N.C., and Raleigh, N.C. The RIA, which is majority-owned by its employees, has 70 offices nationwide and is backed by a minority investment from Abry Partners.

Alaris Acquisitions advised Bradshaw Rogers on the transaction.

Allworth Lands $500M Texas-Based RIA

Allworth Financial, a Folsom, Calif.-based registered investment advisor integrator with $34 billion in assets under management, has expanded in North Texas with the acquisition of Grunden Financial Advisory.

Grunden decided to sell to Allworth after 25 years of operations and a six-person team that had grown its assets under management to $500 million. The team, which includes partners Ricky Grunden Sr., Dave Ragan and Susy Thomas, will continue to work from their offices in Denton and Addison in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.

“After exploring relationships with more than 10 different firms, Allworth stood out immediately,” founder and CEO Grunden said in a statement. “As a long-term steward of this firm, it was important to choose a partner that shares our responsibility to protect what we’ve built and support its continued growth.”

Grunden was represented by Hue Partners in the transaction.

Allworth has 40 offices, but clients in every state. It is owned by private equity firm Lightyear Capital and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, Canada’s largest single-profession pension plan.

Modern Wealth Snags Former Osaic Advisor in Rochester

Modern Wealth Management, a Monterey, Calif.-based RIA founded in 2023 by former United Capital advisors, announced its first acquisition of 2026 with a Rochester, N.Y.-based practice overseeing $300 million in client assets.

The four-person team will join Modern Wealth’s existing Rochester office and be led by Managing Director Craig Houck. Houck had been an investment advisor representative with Osaic for almost 17 years, according to BrokerCheck. He will now use Mutual Securities, Modern Wealth’s broker/dealer.

“Modern Wealth provides a platform that empowers advisors to deliver exceptional client experience while accelerating their own growth,” Houck said in a statement. “In particular, the firm’s deep tax planning expertise allows us to better serve clients navigating increasingly complex financial decisions, especially as they move through retirement.”

Rochester is now Modern Wealth’s largest East Coast presence, according to Jason Gordo, a co-founder and president. The firm has plans for further expansion in the region following its 2024 acquisition of the $1.2-billion Beltz Ianni & Associates.

Advisors Launch New Firm with Carson Group

Two advisors have gotten together to launch a new $145 million wealth advisory with Carson Group’s partnership model.

Keith Blythe and Jaime Gerber have left their former roles to form Bixler Financial, with offices in Decatur and Genega, Ind. Blythe had been with a wealth manager using LPL as its broker/dealer, and Gerber had most recently been with a Raymond James affiliate, according to BrokerCheck.

Now, the duo will offer wealth management and insurance services through their firm, Bixler Financial. They will use Cetera as their broker/dealer through its relationship with Carson.

Gerber had been an assistant in financial services for almost two decades before obtaining her license and becoming an advisor.

“Carson’s platform is designed to help firms like Bixler Financial grow faster and serve clients with greater depth,” Gregg Johnson, national sales director at Carson Group, said in a statement. “By combining their local relationships with our national scale, we’re confident they’ll continue to elevate their business and expand the impact they have on the families they serve.”

Carson Group, which is based in Omaha, Neb., has $55 billion in AUM and more than 150 partner firms.

"Working with Alaris was like being part of a team. their industry knowledge and experience was extremely valuable and the level of professionalism they provided was crucial throughout the entire process."
William Blanton, Owner, Acquired by Composition Wealth
"Alaris was amazing! Not only did they help me find the right fit (or firm?), but they made the transition much smoother than it would've been on my own. And I believe the overall outcome was much better than it would've been without them."
William Rosenthal, Owner, Acquired by Beacon Pointe

"Working with Alaris gave us a great sense of confidence through the entire journey and their knowledge of the buyer universe accelerated the process. By the end of the year, my life had changed as they were an integral part in helping me make the next transition in my business career by selling/merging with a bigger company. Their communication and recommendations along the way were priceless, and being that this was the biggest career move of my life, they did a wonderful job at making me feel the very comfortable during the process."

"Alaris stands out amongst its peers. We appreciate the fact that they took a substantial amount of time to understand our firm and culture - no other M&A advisor has ever done that. The seller economics will always be important and while Alaris seeks to maximize that part of the seller outcome, it's never at the expense of cultural fit."
Glenn Spencer, CEO, Prime Capital Financial
